The Softball in Schools Program was initiated in 2016 by Garry Waugh. Garry has been the driving force ever since. This program has become very popular in the elementary and high school levels.
A team of devoted volunteers come to the school and take over the Physical Education Program for the day. Working with the school contact they organize groups of students that come to the gym for an hour of instruction or more.
The OASA provides indoor softballs, safety bats, gloves for participants, hitting nets and tees.
It’s always encouraged that students can bring their own glove on the day.
There are two objective each day:
1. Have FUN
2. To introduce the game of softball to students and to work on skills of those that are familiar to the game.
